Der VR-1 reproduziert exakt den typischen Single Coil Sound der 50er Jahre. Dazu tragen 42 AWG Kupferdraht, Formvar Isolierung und gestaggerte Alnico 5 Pole Piece Magnete bei. Die Spule ist mit Vintage Gewebeband umwickelt. Middle Pickups sind reverse wound/reverse polarity, was das Brummen in den Schalterpositionen 2 + 4 verhindert. Bridge Pickups sind speziell auf diese Position abgestimmt, was ein Set sehr ausgewogen klingen lässt.
